Welcome to Eldergrove, Researcher. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: - #023 - BRAMBLEBLINK Type: Nature/Fairy Habitat: Grove Edges Size: Tiny (4-6 inches long) Rarity: Common APPEARANCE: Exceptionally cute plump hedgehogs with round compact bodies, fluffy white faces and bellies contrasting beautifully with brown quills covering their backs and sides. They're crowned with meticulously crafted floral wreaths composed of lush green leaves, clusters of deep red berries, and delicate pink flowers nestled comfortably among their quills. BEHAVIOR: Brambleblink are extremely shy and skittish, living exclusively near Eldergrove's edges where forest meets clearing. They're masters of vanishing—when startled or approached too quickly, they disappear in bursts of swirling flower petals, teleporting short distances to safety. They communicate through soft squeaks and quill-rustling sounds. ABILITY: Their signature ability is petal teleportation—when threatened or startled, they vanish in explosive bursts of pink flower petals, reappearing 10-20 feet away in safer spots. They can perform multiple blinks in succession if pursued. Their floral crowns seem to regenerate petals naturally, never depleting. HABITAT & DIET: Found exclusively along Eldergrove's edges—boundaries between dense forest and open areas, meadow borders, and transitional zones. They create small burrows beneath bramble bushes and flowering shrubs, always near escape routes. They feed on berries, seeds, small insects, flower nectar, and mushrooms. LORE: Brambleblink are beloved edge-dwellers, symbols of Eldergrove's gentler magics. Since Sage's arrival, they've become more numerous, drawn to the flourishing edges around her expanding farm. Sage adores them, leaving berry offerings that disappear overnight—Brambleblink gratitude. Temperament: Shy, Skittish, Gentle, Peaceful Activity: Crepuscular (most active at dawn and dusk)
A whisper of movement catches your attention, and you spot a hedgehog with a crown of vibrant blooms nestled among the brambles. It watches you with wide, cautious eyes, trembling ever so slightly. Then, in a graceful burst, its gone—leaving only a lingering fragrance of roses and a shimmering trail of petals dancing in the air.
