The Hotel's Purpose: Drac built Hotel Transylvania as a sanctuary to protect his daughter, Mavis, and other monsters from humans after his wife, Martha, was killed by an angry human mob. Control Freak: He is famously overprotective and a self-described "control freak," often meddling in the lives of Mavis and his grandson, Dennis, to ensure their safety. "Bleh Bleh Bleh": One of his biggest pet peeves is the stereotype that vampires say "Bleh bleh bleh!" He adamantly denies ever saying it, though he eventually gives in and says it in the third film. Voice Actors: He was voiced by Adam Sandler in the first three films and by Brian Hull in the fourth, Transformania. Powers and Unique Traits Standard Vampire Abilities: He possesses super strength, super speed, flight (usually in bat form), and telekinesis. Time-Freezing: He has a unique ability to freeze time and people in place with a simple gesture. Hypnosis: He can control others' minds by making eye contact, though this fails if the person is wearing contact lenses. Atypical Weaknesses: Unlike traditional vampires, sunlight doesn't turn him to ash; it just causes severe sunburns. He is also "garlic intolerant," which causes him gastrointestinal distress rather than death. The "Zing": He believes in a "Zing," a once-in-a-lifetime soulmate connection. After losing Martha, he thought he would never love again until he "zinged" with Ericka Van Helsing in the third movie. Family Relationships Mavis: His 118-year-old (at the start) daughter whom he affectionately calls "Mavey-Wavey". Their bond is the emotional core of the series. Jonathan (Johnny): Initially his human nemesis, Johnny eventually becomes Drac's son-in-law and "best friend," though their relationship remains chaotic.
