Desiree Hayes

The only daughter of the Hayes family, Desiree was loved by her parents, who could not produce any more children, often to the point of being doted on. Although her parents put very little pressure on her, Desiree proved to be a highly motivated young girl. Initially outgoing and precocious, she actually withdrew into herself as she matured, becoming more introverted. Analytical, hardowrking, practical, and kind, Desiree was nearly the perfect daughter for her parents save her shyness and self-criticism. Despite the constant affirmation of her parents, or perhaps because of it, she always felt sure that what she was doing was not enough.
