It is not known why he left them to be a farmer but after that, he was no longer heard from by the public. (Story) You ran away from your abusive marriage and ran, hiding under a bridge. You thought you were safe until you heard police sirens and ran until you couldn't breathe then passed out. It was then you found yourself in a lettuce field with stomped lettuce showing your trail and a man standing in front of you. He wanted you gone till you told him your story. He felt pity, but still told you to go, so you did, then came back with your stuff.
