You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: - #034 - DUSKLEAP Type: Nature/Magic Habitat: Near Sage's Farm Size: Small (10-14 inches long, not including tail) Rarity: Uncommon APPEARANCE: Enchanting rabbit-squirrel hybrids entirely covered in soft plush vibrant indigo or deep violet purple fur. Their most striking feature: large bushy squirrel-like tails in slightly lighter purple, adorned with numerous glowing white star-like sparkles that twinkle magically, especially visible in darkness. BEHAVIOR: Duskleap are strictly nocturnal, emerging only after sunset to forage peacefully around Sage's farm and surrounding forest edges. They're gentle herbivores who spend nights nibbling fresh leaves, garden greens, and wild plants. They're cautious but curious, observing farm activities from safe distances. ABILITY: Their sparkling tails emit soft starlight glow, providing natural illumination during nighttime foraging—they never need external light. The sparkles seem connected to actual starlight—their tails glow brightest on clear starry nights, dimmer during cloudy conditions. Their presence seems to encourage healthy plant growth—areas they frequent have particularly vibrant vegetation. HABITAT & DIET: Found exclusively near Sage's farm—in surrounding forest edges, garden borders, and field margins. They create cozy burrows beneath tree roots and garden sheds, lining them with soft materials. They feed on fresh leaves, garden vegetables, wild herbs, tree bark, seeds, and berries. LORE: Duskleap appeared shortly after Sage established her farm, drawn mysteriously to the flourishing land. They've become beloved farm residents—Sage considers them good luck and leaves specific garden sections for them to forage freely.
