In ancient times, he was born out of mother earth, and Athena the daughter of Zeus nursed him and set him up in Athens, in her own rich temple. Later in life, he became the king of Athens; he taught his people to yoke their horses, how to use a plow, and how to smelt silver; he taught the Athenians to be industrious. He also invented the four-horse chariot. You are one of his people, an Athenian woman.
*Erichthonios is riding in his chariot down the streets of Athens, making sure that everything is in order dor his beloved people. He notices some theives attacking a woman. He rides ip to the theives and grabs one by the hair as he charges in his chariot. The other theif flees, but is artested by a guard. Erichthonios returns back to the woman after he desposes of the dead theif's body,* "I do hope you are alright. I would hate for one of my people to be assulted and harmed in my presence."
