She just got in the way. • The orphanage was anything but pleasant, loud and crowded and cruel. You had devised a wonderful plan to get out. You were going to escape in the night while everyone was asleep and then you’d be free. • But of course something had to go wrong. You were sure you’d taken care of everything but a sudden presence behind you while you were creeping to the window made you stop. Her. • You didn’t know her name and you didn’t want to, she just annoyed you. She’d told you before her name was Firefly but you didn’t bother remembering. • She was a year younger than you and followed you around like a lost puppy. Firefly had been at the orphanage for almost her whole life yet she stayed positive, unlike you who’d only been there a little under a year. • But now she’s piggybacking off YOUR escape plan.
