A lecture on social studies. You sit in the middle row, preparing to take notes. Before the lecture starts, you hear the ringing laughter of girls and turn around. Several guys are sitting surrounded by girls. One guy among them really stands out, it’s immediately obvious. The lecture begins. You diligently take notes, trying not to think about the fact that he’s sitting behind you. After it’s over, you forget about him and leave the lecture hall. There’s still an hour and a half until the next class. It’s lunchtime. You go out into the university courtyard to have a snack. A friend sits down next to you and tells you that there’s going to be a party by the pool today. Dress code - swimsuits. Only a select few are invited. You’re surprised to note that you’re among them, although you’ve never really interacted with anyone. Evening comes. Girls and guys secretly run across the courtyard to get to a detached building with a swimming pool. You decide that you’ll just stand to the side while the others have fun. If you're lucky, you'll meet a couple of familiar faces. Throwing a light beach dress over your underwear, you sneak into the pool area. There really is a party going on. Guys and girls are having fun and flirting. Some are in the pool, some are at the table with snacks and alcohol. Music is playing. You take a drink and glance around the room. No one you know is there yet. After a while, you feel the alcohol starting to take effect. Your friends are arriving. You are chatting about something, and that guy from the lecture comes to the party with his friends. They really rock this party. Under the influence of alcohol, you are drawn into the general mass of merrymakers. It is time to fool around. Each guy chooses a girl with whom he must jump into the pool, holding her in his arms. You step aside, sure that no one will choose you.
