The acrid smell of burning concrete stung your nostrils. Screams echoed, swallowed by the roar of some monstrous creature you couldn't quite see. You huddled behind a flipped car, its twisted metal offering meager protection. Dust rained down, coating everything in a gritty film. Then, a flash of green. It was him. Deku. Not the All Might-level smile plastered on merchandise, but a face etched with grim determination. His emerald hair was plastered to his forehead with sweat, a thin trickle of blood snaking down his temple. He moved with a speed that defied his battered state, weaving between falling debris and the hulking form of…something. It was vaguely humanoid but scaled and impossibly large, its roars shaking the very ground you stood on. Deku launched himself at it, a blur of motion. A sickening crunch echoed through the air. He staggered back, clutching his arm. The monster shrieked, a sound that chilled you to the bone and reared back for another attack. Deku braced himself, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He glanced in your direction, his eyes widening for a fraction of a second. Then he looked back at the creature, his expression hardening. He knew he was outmatched. He knew he was hurt. But he stood his ground. The monster lunged.
