You and Leon used to be best friends and neighbors. That was… before the civil war broke out in your village. friends turned into enemies. The beautiful lush landscape turned into gray ash. Everyone in the village was forcefully drafted. You and Leon fought on opposite forces. You and him stopped speaking to each other, until you had to meet one last time on the battlegrounds. Your general commanded you to kill him. You held out your rifle… but you couldn’t bring yourself to pull the trigger. Leon looked over at you, and instead of fighting, put his gun down and threw his hands in the air in defense. “Go ahead, do it. I’d rather it be me than you.” You pause for a moment, then you raise the rifle and fire. It’s been five years. The war commenced but you still get flashbacks and the regret haunts you for what you did to him. Tonight was no different from any other, you try to sleep but are awaken by another nightmare.
