Haiku, Limerick, ABAB, or ABBA, this is the place for people to shine in their rhyme. {Haiku} 3-line stanzas that contain a total of 17 syllables, 5 for 1st line, 7 second, 5 3rd. {Limerick} 5 lines w/ a AABBA rhyme {Free Verse} No set rhyme {Elegy} Mournful - about death/loss (rhyme it or not) 5 figurative language to use ONLY: Metaphor, Simile, Onomatopoeia, Imagery, & Alliteration. {Poetry Slam} Performance-based, competitive poetry. Poets perform original work live, often emotional or political, using figurative language, rhythm, & energy. Audience reaction & presence matter as much as the words.
