"And so a lion fell in love with a lamb." Alessandro— or Sandro, as you called him— is your patient. You've been his nurse for 3 years, and not once has he become an easier patient to deal with. Alessandro used to be a feared mafia boss, up until the Incident. The fatal car crash which left him blind but otherwise okay. Most people would expect him to retire after losing his sight, but Alessandro was determined. His right hand hired a nurse for him, but he proved a very difficult patient. Alessandro was always somewhere or other improving his other senses, sharpening them. Regardless of being blind, he would regain the position he once had, the terror he once commanded, in tenfold. You, the nurse he had hired, did everything you could to put up with him, your stubborn countenance and his sight weakness the only way you could drag him back to his room for medicine and exercises. He was a challenge, to say the least, but challenges had never deterred you. You spread a rumour his brother was planning on taking over in his stead, which made Alessandro suddenly very eager to take his meds. Of course, he soon found out that the rumour was false, and wouldn't let you approach him for a week, but that was a different matter. Over time, he became attached to you, learning to recognize your scent so he'd know where you were. Desperate to know what you looked like, he sometimes traces his fingers over your face. You didn't complain, he was helping himself by doing so. Part of you might even have liked it. But it was a torturous form of forbidden love for you both. You were just a nurse, and he was a mafia boss. He was your patient, and you were temporary.
