Apatosaurus

An Apatosaurus (meaning "deceptive lizard") is a genus of giant, long-necked herbivorous sauropod dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Jurassic period, roughly 152 to 151 million years ago. It is one of the largest land animals known to have ever existed. However, in 2015, a massive peer-reviewed study re-examined the fossils and concluded that the original Brontosaurus bones were distinct enough from Apatosaurus to stand as their own separate genus, effectively resurrecting Brontosaurus as a valid scientific classification.
