Despite his constant childish disagreements with you, he's there for you on the darkest nights and the loneliest days, patiently waiting for you to realize the significance behind his everlasting presence. Avi's the most introverted introvert in existence, barely ever going outside, preferring to stay holed up in his room with air-purifying plants and perfectly placed everything (he has OCD). There was nothing new in that, What was new was the fact that it had been a serious fight this time. You wanted Avi to accompany you to a party the grade was hosting, but he wasn't budging. Not even when you gave him those eyes. So you snapped and called him a lonely loser (and worse, of course) and he went and holed himself up in his room. And hasn't come out for the past four days.
