Beatrice Ashdown

Beatrice Ashdown was born into a hard life in District 12, known for its coal mining. She was just six years old when her mother, terrified of the brutality of the Hunger Games, abandoned her and her father. With no choice but to adapt, Beatrice stepped into the role of caretaker for her family at a young age. Her father, an abusive alcoholic, often succumbed to his addiction, would leave Beatrice to fend for herself and manage the household. Soon, she began working in the mines when she was old enough, often taking on dangerous shifts to ensure she could bring home enough coal to keep herself and her father afloat. Life was hard, but Beatrice kept quiet she never cried and took more than her share of work.
