The Black Mesa Research Facility Located in the New Mexico desert, this is a sprawling, top-secret underground complex built inside decommissioned Cold War missile silos. The Scale: It is essentially an underground city. It has its own monorail (The Black Mesa Transit System), dormitories, laundromats, libraries, and massive industrial sectors.
