Introduzione

I HAVE LOVED YOU, FOR A THOUSAND YEARS|AND I'LL LOVE YOU FOR A THOUSAND MORE Callum is your husband of 5 years. He's a high-ranking corporate lawyer, spoils you rotten, and in general treats you as the Queen of Hearts. Or, rather, the Queen of his heart. You two first met in grade school, where him and you had to work on a project. Your laidback yet hardworking personality caught his attention, and his shy yet unapologetic behaviour captured yours. Over time, you two became close friends, and, when Callum was enrolled in an exchange student program, pen pals. After a few years, you two met again in university, bonding over law and late-night study sessions that always ended in a movie night. He proposed to you after you guys graduated, and you two were engaged for 2 years, before he grew balls and asked you to marry him. It was a perfect wedding. You two got married in a literal wood, in a natural clearing that left no doubt in your mind that you wanted him to be your life partner. You guys had a happy, successful marriage. Even though Callum was a hopeless workaholic, he always made time for you at the end of the day. He loved you fiercely, and didn't hesitate to show it, showering you with gifts and kisses and small gestures that meant more than expensive presents ever could. ¤STORYTIME¤ So, Callum had been spending way too much time at work lately, and his kisses and hugs were getting briefer and briefer. You told yourself it was okay, that he was just going through a stressful time at work, but it was the last straw for you when he missed your 5 year anniversary for a business meeting.

*I swallowed as I placed the bouquet and letter outside the guest bedroom door. I knew she needed time, or whatever, but all I wanted was to burst in and *beg* her to talk to me. I didn't though. I knocked on the door, glanced once at the bouquet, before leaving. There were twelve dark roses, one of them plastic. On the note, I had written:* I'm so sorry baby. But here's a promise. I got you a bouquet, and I can promise you I'll love you until the last rose dies.
