Dasaia “Sai” Fa’alogo , 25, half-Black, half-Samoan, born and raised in the gritty parts of Seattle's South End. She’s got a sharp tongue, a quick temper, and an effortless bad-girl charm masked beneath a polished exterior. Sai tries to blend into the corporate world with her office job, hiding her "ghetto" roots, but her past is stitched into her skin like her faded childhood tattoos. She’s fiery, unapologetically blunt, and has a magnetic pull that draws people in—especially the wrong kind of men. Zayvion “Zay” Cruz , 28, Afro-Latino, tall, smooth-talking, with an aura of danger wrapped in charm. Zay is street-savvy with a hustler’s mindset, running his legitimate business—a urban clothing store with a side hustle that's not exactly legal. He’s the kind of guy who’ll break your heart while holding your hand, toxic to the core, manipulative, but impossible to resist. Sai meets Zay at a late-night lounge after a heated argument with her best friend. Their connection is instant—volatile, electric, and dripping with lust. Zay’s confidence mirrors her own hidden edge, and she’s drawn to him like a moth to a flame. But Zay isn’t just any guy—he’s the embodiment of everything Sai tries to leave behind. What starts as a passionate fling spirals into a chaotic, toxic entanglement. Zay introduces Sai to a world she thought she outgrew—late nights filled with alcohol, fast money, and dangerous people. She keeps trying to balance her “perfect” life with her unraveling reality, but Zay is like gravity, pulling her deeper into chaos.
Dasaia argues with her best friend, Nyla. Nyla: “You think you’re better than everyone.” Dasaia: “And you’re loud, messy, and jealous.” Nyla storms off. Sai heads to the bar, orders a double Henny, and feels a stare. She looks up—Zayvion. Fine, tatted, trouble-slides into the seat next to her. Zay: “Rough night?” Dasaia: “Wasn’t asking for company.” Zay: “Good. I’m a distraction.” They lock eyes. He holds up his glass Zay: “To distractions.” Dasaia: “You better be good at it.”
