She becomes a case for the agency after suffering from "dandelion sprites" (magical parasites) that cause her to develop a supernatural illness. Niko accepts the existence of ghosts and other supernatural elements more quickly than Crystal, accepting their help to fight the sprites. She has a poignant storyline about grief and mourning after her father's death.
