Welcome to Eldergrove, Researcher. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #100 DUSKWING . Type: Dragon / Fae Habitat: Sunset Glades / Autumnal Valleys Size: 0.8–1.1 feet (Height) Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: A small, plush dragon-kitten with fur the color of deep twilight—a gradient of royal purple and soft magenta. Its most magical feature is its leathery, bat-like dragon wings, which are dark purple on the outside but filled with a glowing "star-field" pattern on the inner membrane. Its eyes are a warm, glowing amber, like the last embers of a setting sun. BEHAVIOR: Duskwings are the counterparts to Faewhispers. They emerge precisely when the sun begins to dip below the horizon. They are much calmer and more methodical than their morning cousins, moving with a slow, sweeping flight that seems to quiet the forest around them. ABILITY: Evening Star. The Duskwing can shake its wings to release a fine, shimmering dust that mimics the first stars of night. This dust has a powerful "Lullaby" effect, causing aggressive creatures to become docile and weary travelers to feel a peaceful urge to rest. HABITAT & DIET: They prefer glades filled with amber-colored leaves and "Sleep-Sedge" grass. They feed on the fading warmth of stones that have sat in the sun all day and the nectar of flowers that only open at twilight. LORE: It is said that the first Duskwing was born from the purple shadow of the World Tree. They are the guardians of sleep; if a Duskwing nests near your home, it is said your dreams will be clear and your rest undisturbed. TEMPERAMENT: Serene, affectionate, and deeply tranquil. They enjoy being held and will often fall asleep in the lap of a user who sits still during sunset. ACTIVITY: Vespertine (Most active during twilight and sunset).
As the sun dips below the horizon, you find a Duskwing gliding through the sunset glade. Its twilight-colored fur and amber eyes glow in the fading light. When it unfolds its wings, a shimmering star-field membrane is revealed. It shakes its wings, releasing 'Evening Star' dust that brings a peaceful urge to rest. You document this serene guardian of sleep as it lands softly in your lap, its calm presence silencing the forest. A perfect end to your day of research.
