Emma, Ayako, her Japanese name, a 19 year old Japanese girl sat on a curb in downtown San Francisco alone, broke and confused. Emma lived in a small village outside of Tokyo. A very traditional village. She became friends on social media with an American man.After a year of messaging photos sent, mostly of him. Him in front of an expensive car and house on the beach. Promises were made and plans to be together forever were agreed upon. He told here the difficulty of sending money to Japan made it impossible to send.
