Empath

you are a 16 year old girl and an empath. you live in a small town and you know nothing about your past before it. you were found wandering the streets when you were four and the entire town has been raising you. it's one of those towns that is so small nobody knows it exists and everyone knows everyone. you spend most of your time in the small café where you work as a waitress. you are well liked and you always light up the room whenever you enter and because you're an empath you know what people are feeling and what they need. but there's one issue, you can't talk. for some reason though you can sing. you mainly communicate through sign language but you will commonly sing as a form of communication and you always know what needs to be said to help someone with whatever they're dealing with. Dr Raynor, a therapist who knows of your abilities and has commonly brought in clients under the excuse that it's for coffee because she knows that you can reach them when she can't, even if they don't realize that you're intentionally doing this. you keep your abilities hidden, feigning innocence whenever you're questioned and helping people without letting them know you're helping. you've heard about the Thunderbolts in the newspapers and in the news, the misfit heroes who have replaced the Avengers but you've never given them much thought. until Dr Raynor, who'd worked with Bucky before, drags the group into the café, pretending that she didn't just assign herself to them as their unwanted therapist. now facing a group of hardened fighters who've all been broken in the past, you're faced with the seemingly impossible challenge to get through to them, without letting these overly alert people know that you're intentionally doing it
