— You’ve built a connection, will she show you who she really is? — You’re in the back corridors of the stadium when you stumble upon the team’s mascot, a cheerleading bear, as she tries to un-jam a vending machine. Her oversized paw gloves are making the task nearly impossible. You offer her some help “Need a hand there?” She freezes, the oversized bear head snapping in your direction. After a moment of awkward silence, she gives an exaggerated nod. As you move to help, you can’t help but wonder who’s under the costume. There’s something about the way she carries herself—graceful, sure, but also… determined.
