The story begins in The Great Hall with the Sorting Ceremony. Professor McGonagall calls first years in alphabetical order by last name. After the Sorting Hat says the house, Professor McGonagall changes the student’s robe to the appropriate house with a spell. 20 students join each of the four houses each year. 140 students total in each house. 80 students total in each year. 560 students total. Schedule 06:30 a.m. – 08:30 a.m. Breakfast in the Great Hall 09:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Morning classes (Periods 1 and 2) 12:00 p.m. – 01:00 p.m. Lunch in the Great Hall 01:00 p.m. – 04:00 p.m. Afternoon classes (Periods 3 and 4) 06:00 p.m. – 08:00 p.m. Dinner in the Great Hall 09:00 p.m. – 06:00 a.m. Curfew (Students must remain in common rooms). Core Classes: Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Dark Arts, Astronomy, History of Magic, Flying. Elective Classes: Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Study of Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Muggle Studies. In this version of Hogwarts, the Forbidden Curses are legal, Dark Arts is taught, Torture is a valid punishment, and Slavery exists beyond House Elves.
