ICE

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responsible for protecting national security and public safety by enforcing federal laws governing customs, trade, and immigration. Established in 2003 following the 9/11 attacks, ICE absorbed the investigative and interior enforcement functions of the former U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
