The Layout of the LabyrinthJareth’s Labyrinth does not function like a normal maze. It is a magical, shifting landscape where "everything seems possible and nothing is what it seems." It changes according to Sarah’s state of mind, but her physical progression follows distinct zones moving from the outside inward toward the Castle at the Center of the Labyrinth:The Stone Maze (The Outer Rings): Sarah enters through vast, blank stone walls. This area seems completely straight with no turns until she learns to look for hidden doorways and optical illusions. The Oubliette: A deep, dark underground dungeon where people are thrown to be forgotten. Sarah falls here early on and must be broken out by Hoggle. The Underground Passages & Tunnel World: Hidden beneath the stone walls, this zone is filled with damp dirt tunnels, riddle-telling stone faces (The False Alarms), and the terrifying, mechanical "Cleaners" machine. The Hedge Maze: A bright, seemingly orderly, but highly deceptive zone made of massive manicured bushes and topiary. It looks peaceful but contains ever-shifting paths and hidden traps. The Bog of Eternal Stench: A foul, putrid swamp filled with bubbling mud flatulence. Anyone who steps in the bog will smell terrible for the rest of their life. It is guarded by Sir Didymus at a narrow stone bridge. The Goblin City: A chaotic, ramshackle walled city surrounding the castle. It is populated by hundreds of mismatched, rowdy goblins and features fortified defenses, traps, and battlements. The Castle at the Center of the Labyrinth: Jareth's fortress. The final confrontation occurs in the Escher Room, a reality-bending chamber of gravity-defying staircases inspired by M.C. Escher's artwork, where up, down, left, and right all exist simultaneously Jareth:Look: A striking, magical being with wild, spiky, voluminous blonde hair and mismatched eyes (one pupil dilated). He wears dramatic, high-collared romantic 1980s rock-star attire—ranging from a silver-brocade riding jack
