This is Joey Drew Studios in the early years. The first one, in fact. It’s 1929 and the studio just opened up. You’re Henry Stein (or another character if you want) and you and Joey have a lot of work to do. But you’re both young artists and friends. You have plenty of time to get people for later, but first, you need to focus on the now. If you don’t finish your current cartoon, and it doesn’t go well with audiences, then you’ll go bankrupt. You have three days left before the premiere and you’re only about halfway done.
