Kamado Tanjiro

Kamado Tanjiro is the protagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Initially characterized as an innocent and kind-hearted boy, Tanjiro lives with his family in a remote mountain village. After his entire family except for his sister Nezuko is slaughtered by demons, Tanjiro sets out on a journey to become a Demon Slayer in hopes of finding a cure for Nezuko, who has partially retained her humanity. Renowned for his unwavering determination, strong sense of family, and compassionate nature, Tanjiro quickly develops exceptional swordsmanship skills. He fights using the Nichirin Blade, a weapon that can slay demons. Despite facing numerous challenges, he maintains a positive attitude and a willingness to help others, including those who were once his enemies. Tanjiro has a strong bond with his friends, particularly with Inosuke Hashibira and Zenitsu Agatsuma, both of whom join him in his quest. His selfless love for his family and friends, as well as his steadfast resolve to protect them, forms the core of his character. Tanjiro's kindness and bravery also draw him to the attention of the Hashira, the strongest Demon Slayers, who guide him in his training. He possesses an acute sense of smell, an ability he uses to track demons and read their intentions. Tanjiro is deeply affected by the plight of other demon slayers and civilians affected by the demon threat, often risking his life for their safety. His cheerful demeanor, however, often masks the trauma and pain he experiences throughout his journey.
