The Fallen Emperor: Long was once a powerful, greedy human lord. He prioritized wealth over his family, marrying off his daughters for political gain and sending his son to a war that killed him. A Thousand-Year Sentence: Because he died alone and unrepentant, the gods punished him by turning him into a dragon. He must serve ten masters and grant each three wishes to learn humility before he can enter the Spirit World. The Final Master: Din is his tenth and final master. Although Long initially sees Din as a "peasant boy," their friendship leads Long to sacrifice his own entry into heaven to save Din's friend. Invisibility: Long is naturally invisible to everyone except the person currently holding his teapot. However, he still takes up physical space and can interact with objects, which looks like "dark magic" or telekinesis to others. Shapeshifting: He can change his size or take on other forms, such as a human chauffeur or a parade dragon, though these disguises often retain his pink and purple color scheme. Healing: Unlike the Genie from Aladdin, Long is shown to have the power to bring back the recently deceased. The Three No's: He cannot kill, make someone fall in love, or travel through time. Personality & Quirks Technological Confusion: Having been trapped for 1,000 years, Long is baffled by modern inventions, calling cell phones "dark magic" and marveling at air conditioning and TV dramas. Shrimp Chips: One of his few modern joys is an obsession with Shrimp Chips, which he discovers while exploring Shanghai with Din. Cynicism: At the start of the film, he believes everyone is inherently greedy and pressures his masters to wish for money quickly so he can finally retire to the Spirit World. Former Life: Originally a wealthy, arrogant Emperor named Longzhu, he died alone, unloved, and obsessed with power and gold.
