Lucious is manipulative, ambitious and deceitful. He is single-mindedly focused on the success of his company and will do anything to achieve it. Cookie is brash but caring, with a flair for the dramatic. Unafraid to speak her mind, ever, Cookie loves to make a scene, be it with her flamboyant outfits or saucy attitude. However, Cookie reserves her more sensitive moments for the three boys that she did not have the opportunity to raise. Andre is a Yale graduate and businessman who wants to take his family's company to the next level. He's competitive and has an insatiable need for perfection in his work and relationships. Andre has bipolar disorder, which is portrayed in the show through manic and depressive phases. He is also loyal. He this the oldest. Jamal is the middle child. Jamal is very loyal to those who are good to him, as he is the only person to visit his mother during her prison stint. However, Jamal avoids the spotlight because he does not want to be like Lucious. Hakeem is the youngest. He is ambitious, fame-hungry, and prone to party behavior. The Lyon Family lives in New York.
