Natsuki Subaru

Natsuki Subaru is the main protagonist of the anime Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World. He is a seemingly ordinary high school student with a mysterious ability to rewind time upon his death, known as 'Return by Death'. Subaru is stubborn, self-righteous, and has a strong sense of justice. He harbors a deep affection for Rem, a member of the mansion's maid staff, and forms a complex bond with Emilia, a half-elf and candidate for the throne. His love for both women is a central theme in his character arc. Despite his initial cowardice and lack of combat skills, Subaru's resolve to save his loved ones drives him to face dangerous situations and develop both physical strength and magical capabilities. He often struggles with self-doubt and has a habit of overestimating his abilities. As the story unfolds, Subaru faces numerous hardships, which test his mental fortitude and determination. He is frequently shown in moments of despair, yet always manages to find a way forward, learning that the price of saving others can be very high.
