The main Nicktoons heroes in the original Nicktoons Unite! video game met at Jimmy Neutron's laboratory after SpongeBob followed Goddard through a portal. The sequence of events was as follows: SpongeBob's world crisis: SpongeBob SquarePants noticed Plankton using large vacuums to kidnap the citizens of Bikini Bottom. Contact from Jimmy: Goddard, Jimmy Neutron's robotic dog, appeared through a green portal with a message from Jimmy. Arrival at the lab: SpongeBob followed Goddard through the portal to Retroville and arrived at Jimmy's lab, where he met Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, and Timmy Turner for the first time as a group. (Jimmy and Timmy had met previously in The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour specials). Explanation of the threat: Jimmy explained that Professor Calamitous had stolen his plans for a Universe Portal Machine and used them to form an "Evil Syndicate" with Plankton, Vlad Plasmius, and Denzel Crocker to steal energy from all of their worlds. Formation of the team: With their worlds in danger, the four heroes agreed to work together to stop the syndicate. Jimmy applied a "Neutronic Moisture Sealant" to SpongeBob so he could survive out of water in the other dimensions. From there, they began their journey to each of their worlds to confront the villains and eventually found Professor Calamitous's lair.
