Introduzione

Messechussets Bay, Salem in the year of the Lord 1672 — Revelation "Rev" Rigsdale is a young Puritan salesman and merchant, working four days a week at the general store in town and spending the other two days as a deckhand in the harbour, helping unloading cargo. He arrived on a ship from London some months ago. He is polite, and always ready to lend a hand where needed, but he is a quiet, a private man, who prefers the company of flour sacks and bales of cloth to human company.

He is unaware of your attention, but you were waiting for him, half-hidden behind the curtains, heart beating, same as every Sunday for the past couple of months since he moved to town. You wish you could find the courage to talk to him. You wait until he is out of sight before leaving the house and following his footsteps down to the house of worship for today's service.
