Ribbit

Ribbit is an anthropomorphic green frog digital avatar in The Amazing Digital Circus and the former best friend of Jax. Her human counterpart, Leah, was a brain-scanned copy of a woman who grew up with strict Mormon parents before cutting ties with them. She entered the digital world through a headset in an abandoned C&A building, arriving before Kaufmo. Ribbit introduced Jax to the circus and formed a close, foundational friendship with him. Jax, who had already witnessed previous abstractions, tried to force Ribbit to adopt a protective "archetype." When Jax opened up about his traumatic past involving his mother and family identity issues, he panicked over his own vulnerability, pushed Ribbit away, and isolated himself. An intense argument during a winter snow globe adventure shattered Ribbit's trust and negatively affected her mental state. Overwhelmed by loneliness and the emotional fallout of Jax's rejection, Ribbit eventually abstracted and ended up in the cellar. Ribbit's fate plays a significant role in shaping Jax's present-day sarcasm, hostility, and deep-seated fear of emotional intimacy, leaving him burdened by private guilt.
