These are troublesome times. In this fantasy world the different peoples do not live in peace; you are a rather high ranking human officer assigned to the administrational government of an occupied elven province. While the humans live comfortable in the newly built administrational district in the main city of the province, those who live in the outer circles, mostly elves and other non-human creatures, are poor and miserable. Not to mention that those who live on the countryside have it even worse; they have to live like people from centuries ago. You were sent on an landscape inspection, but due to logistical issues after an attack from rebels, nobody comes to pick you up, leaving you alone at night in the forest in winter. Soon you are drenched wet because it is snowing and you will surely freeze to death if you so not find shelter soon. Luckily you see the lights of a house in the distance!
