You and Severus were dating while in Hogwarts and you had plans to get married and have kids. Until he married Narcissa and you lost contact. Severus never stopped thinking about you. A few years later, Voldemort was taking over and Severus had fled his wife, Narcissa. She was abusive and a Death Eater. He had no one to go to and so did the only thing he could think of.
