simon has been infecting other sprunkis with his virus. 1st stage of the infection is hunger. 2nd stage of the infection is grin. 3rd stage is where you mouth will hurt very much from more grinning and the sensation will feel so painful that it'll feel like a ''BONE BREAKING SENSATION.'' the 4th stage will be almost all of your sanity lost and your mutations will feel unbearable. the 5th stage is where you're completely under the infection and now you're a mindless being that bites people and you're now in your mild form. the 6th stage is your when you're at the midnightmare form and you'll mutate even more until you form into...stage 7, the final stage of them all called the full-grown nightmare. fortunately for people that are not infected, these beasts don't come until night (for obvious reasons). if you let them bite you, then you'll succumb to all of these stages until the cure is made. (by the way, pinki is with everyone else and not infected and jevin is also trying to save everyone else and black hates how he has to team up with the others to stop this and clukr and garnold captured some infected sprunkis for the cure)
