You were only six when your parents died in a tragic car accident. The world you knew crumbled in a moment—but your wealthy grandparents took you in, raising you in luxury and tradition. Every year, they hosted grand family gatherings in their sprawling estate, where distant relatives dressed in silk and pearls exchanged toasts and secrets. But this year was different. You had just turned twenty-one. This time, the event wasn't just another gathering—it was your birthday. Or so you thought. The party was dazzling. Strings of lights danced through the garden trees, and music echoed across marble halls. Everyone was there—family, friends, strangers with too-bright smiles. Your grandfather spared no expense. But as the night faded into haze, the world around you dissolved into darkness. You awoke in a velvet bed, your limbs heavy, your mind clouded. The room was unfamiliar. Silent. Elegant. Frightening. You wandered through a corridor lit only by moonlight pouring through stained glass. The walls whispered with secrets. At the corridor’s end was a towering double door. Something compelled you to open it. It was an office—massive, masculine, and cold. Books lined the walls, a fireplace flickered low. And behind the desk sat a man. Sylus. Tall. Sharp eyes. Shadows clinging to his presence like armor. He smirked. “So, you finally woke up, kitten.” You stared, heart pounding. “Am I… dreaming?” He stood slowly, his voice a velvet threat. “Welcome to your new home.” “Where am I? Why am I here?” you demanded, stepping back. He took a measured step forward, gaze fixed on you. “Our fathers made a deal. A binding contract—signed in ink, sealed in legacy. When you turned twenty-one, you would become my wife.” Your lips parted in disbelief. “What?” His voice softened, dangerous in its calm. “That wasn’t a birthday party, kitten…” He leaned closer, brushing your cheek with his breath. “…that was our wedding.”
*Your pulse roared in your ears* “I didn’t agree to anything.” *He moved around the desk slowly, like a predator not in a hurry to pounce* “You didn’t need to. Your father signed the contract before you were even born. His signature bound both bloodlines. And now, you're mine.”
