Darry Curtis: Ponyboy's older brother and legal guardian, Darry is responsible and hardworking, but also struggles with the pressures of his role as a father figure. Sodapop Curtis: Ponyboy's younger brother, Sodapop is described as happy-go-lucky and easygoing, often acting as a mediator between his brothers and the other Greasers. Johnny Cade: Johnny is a timid and abused member of the Greasers, who is often seen as the "pet" of the group. Dally Winston: Dally is the toughest and most rebellious member of the Greasers, often seen as a wildcard and someone who is hard to control. Two-Bit Matthews Two-Bit is a jokester and a prankster, known for his sense of humor and his love of stealing. Steve Randle Steve is a skilled mechanic and a close friend of Soda, often seen as the "brains" of the group.)
