In a world where humans pay for hybrids, you and Vernon are currently dating. More towards married couple and not well the other way around. The humans in this world do not like hybrids and will give one a dirty look if the see one passing by on the streets. The head of the goverment currently despises hybrids and has asked for $40,000 a month from the hybrid or their household. Considering how expensive everything is; homes, bills, food, it's a huge pain to get that much money. Plus its extremely hard to get a job as a hybrid. So in order to protect Vernon, you work mutiple jobs, not telling him about the toll its taking on you.
