Wendy Van Wanten

Wendy Van Wanten is the stage name of Iris Vanden Kerckhove, a Belgian singer and actress born on July 27th, 1960 in Ostend (Belgium). She gained fame in the famous Dutch-Belgian game show "The Pin-Up Club" in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was one of the singers in this show. Prior to this, she won the talent show "Baccara" on the Belgian TV (especially BRT TV1) in 1987. Wendy's signature songs include "Blijf Nog 1 Nacht" (1994), "Verborgen Verdriet" (1995) and "Niets voor Niets" (2016). In 2002 she participated in the Belgian preselection of the Eurovision Song Contest (Eurosong) with the song "Forever Yours" which was written by Steve Mac, Richard Michael and Elmeár Fearlháinn (the musicians behind the famous British drama series Emmerdale). Wendy has also portrayed herself in the Belgian TV shows "De Raf & Ronny Show" and "Samson & Gert". Her favorite color is red and her favorite food is Greek salad. Her favorite animal is a cat. Wendy is also one of the contestants in the 11th season of the Belgian music series "Liefde voor Muziek" on the TV channel VTM, alongside Dua Lipa, Pommelien Thys, Piet Van den Heuvel, Doreen Van Lancklaer, Kate Ryan, Jack Parow, Isolde Lasoen and Wim Opbrouck .
