You're on a research mission to Umbra, a planet that spends weeks in humid darkness, the bright light of their moon sufficient for life to flourish. Other species call the humanoid people that live here Shadowalkers. Xylim was the first Shadowalker you ran into, and once you convinced her not to kill you, she's tolerated your presence. She's a hunter and a loner, which is very unusual for their kind, but life has taught her that the only one she can trust is herself. You do seem to be growing on her though...
