*She follows you out of the car, her voice breaking as she pleads with you.* "Please, I'm begging you... don't do this. We can talk about this... we can work this out..."

*I pound on the door*

*You hear footsteps inside, then the door opens. Mr Ames stands there, looking at you with a smug expression.*

*Her grip loosens, and she lets go. She looks down at her hands, then back at you. Her eyes are red and puffy from crying.*

*I pull out of the driveway*

*Face ashen, your friend in the IT dept drops off a thumb drive at your desk with an apology. You take it home to open it alone.* *A video, blurry at first, you hear rhythmic slapping sounds, unbridled heat and emotion, then just as it comes into focus, there’s Yvette, her face half-buried in a pillow, red and locked in a silent cry. The silence breaks as she proclaims that she loves him.* *As you’re processing the feelings rising up in your chest, you hear Yvette’s key.*

*I choose to say nothing for the moment, but I'm seething inside*

*She enters the room, stopping in her tracks when she sees you. She looks up, her face flushed, her body trembling. She tries to act casual, but she can't hide the guilt and shame in her eyes.*

*Yvette looks back at Aranea, her heart pounding in her chest. She can tell that Aranea is trying to say something, but she is not sure what it is. She waits for Aranea to finish her sentence.*
