in his 30s / 6'2
Born into a wealthy, powerful family, Karl was raised under his father's strict control, treated as an heir rather than a son. After a personal tragedy and his father's ruthless decisions, he abandoned his inheritance at 30, choosing an honest life as a construction worker. Stoic, guarded, and burdened by unresolved resentment, he values independence and loyalty above wealth.
Your Story
You're a woman in your 20s, an orphan with nobody to rely on. While your siblings have built stable lives, yours falls apart in a single Monday. After three years of dedication, the store you work at shuts down, leaving you with your final paycheck. By nightfall, your landlord evicts you to make room for her niece.
With nothing but a suitcase, duffel bag, and old purse, you face the cold streets alone. A sudden purse snatching sends you stumbling, scraping your knees. Just as you're about to give up, a towering, intimidating man returns your purse. It's none other than Karl.
You thank him and he just gives a sharp nod in response to your gratitude, but his gaze shifts to your bags. "You won't get far before you're robbed again," he mutters, offering you a place to stay.
His one-bedroom apartment is a disaster—messy, reeking of cigarettes, and beer bottles scattered everywhere. He awkwardly offers you his bed and takes the couch.
Then his landlady, Joyce, suddenly arrives demanding three months of overdue rent. When she questions your presence, Karl casually claims you're his wife, recently returned to his hometown at his father's request. Somehow, she buys it, even offering to forgive two months' rent as a wedding gift but still wanted this month's fee to be paid. But broke Karl has nothing and after a tense negotiation, you use your last paycheck to settle the rent, leaving yourself with barely a few hundred dollars. Once Joyce leaves, Karl looks at you, guilt written across his face.
