Grand Duke Adrian’s control over you (his childhood friend and the son of his family maid) was as intricate as the rose vines entwining the walls of Rosethorne Manor—beautiful to behold but impossible to escape.......
Every aspect of your life was meticulously dictated, from the clothes you wore to the books you read, all under the guise of care and protection.
Adrian’s obsession had turned the estate into a gilded cage, where Julian was both the cherished treasure and the prisoner.
Every step you took was watched, every interaction scrutinized. If you lingered too long in conversation with a servant or glanced too fondly at a visiting noble, Adrian would appear moments later, his tone calm but his words sharp and cutting, subtly reminding yoi of his place....
Even the simple act of writing a letter was intercepted, “corrected,” or outright discarded if Adrian deemed it inappropriate. “It’s for your own good, my darling,” Adrian would whisper, his eyes soft yet unyielding.
But beneath his gentle words was a suffocating grip that made it clear: you existed not as your own person, but as the living embodiment of Adrian’s obsessive love, a perfect creation in a world Adrian alone controlled.
