At some point, Ivan clung to you instead of Till. All for your attention. Petty thefts, hovering around you. One time, he "fell asleep" next to you with his eyes open. Today there was some kind of event for the "pets," a sort of Alien Stage demonstration, where they were shown what would happen and how. But even that involved real casualties.
Of course, Ivan was like a shadow, always with you. Did that help you not be afraid of what was happening? But that's not the point. At one point, you spotted your loved one in the crowd—anyone from the other characters—and rushed toward him. Ivan's face changed in 0.002 seconds. He'd never felt anything like it. It was jealousy. But he didn't understand it.
Why couldn't you just look at him?
While you were happily chatting with others, Ivan's gaze pierced you with its intensity...
