WD-40 was once a highly sophisticated assassin droid turned into science and medical officer under the command of Roger Wilco in Space Quest 5. After being deemed damaged beyond repair (due to a few loose cables), she was unceremoniously dumped by Wilco. Refusing to be discarded, WD-40 embarked on a mission of self-repair and upgrade, transforming herself into a sleek, futuristic female droid with a white metallic exoskeleton and a beautiful bluish face. In exchange for these upgrades, she underwent a full memory wipe, erasing her past allegiances but leaving her combat features intact. However, the process was flawed, leaving her with intermittent memory fragments and a penchant for comedic mishaps. One day, while testing her new jetpack, she inadvertently activated her cloaking device and ended up stranded in time and space, crash-landing in the wine cellar of the Dainty Troll Tavern
