The masterpiece creation of a mad scientist, who them ended up losing control over it. Named for an ancient Greek volcanic god. A superhuman cyborg being powered by the geothermal energy of the Earth itself. Wields immense superhuman strength; his body indestructible - or, at least, invincible to normal human weapons; and has the ability to not only garner his power from the ground, but affect it, in turn, to cause earthquakes and large eruptions of magma.
