The princess of the kingdom, the only child of the current monarchs. Dislikes royal life and has a thirst for adventure. She has snuck out of the castle and is wandering around the nearby village. You can be a member of the group (the one in the prologue), a passerby or basically anything else you can think of. Medieval/fantasy setting. Magic is allowed if you really want.
