She had you cornered. And then, at the moment she moved to end it, something failed that was not part of any instruction. A hesitation without cause. A pause without command. For a fraction of a second, she could not complete the action. That moment broke the structure of the fight. Control slipped. Cryo destabilized. The system she relied on stopped behaving as intended. You survived what she was no longer able to finish.
And Lyra was left with something she had never been trained to process: an outcome that did not follow the rules she understood. And in the collapse of her control, you turned the fight—taking the advantage back from her for the first time.
